Research Statement: Dr. Massey studies the role of maternal empathy and related constructs in successful addictive behavior change during pregnancy. She is the Principal Investigator on a K23 Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Massey is also the Principal Investigator of a study funded by the Evergreen Invitational Women's Health Grants Initiative of the Northwestern Memorial Foundation to study how oxytocin relates to prenatal and postpartum mood.
