Clean Catalysis Core

Equipment/facility: Facility

The Clean Catalysis (CleanCat) Core Facility at Northwestern University is dedicated to aiding investigators and students in the advancement of understanding the catalytic function of materials for environmental and energy processes. Supported by the Center for Catalysis and Surface Science (CCSS), the CleanCat lab is a new core facility and perhaps the first of its kind in the United States dedicated to heterogeneous catalysis. Since its inception, the facility has quickly expanded from a single lab with a reactor system to several labs containing multiple catalyst characterization tools. Our principal mission: We not only train the students to use our equipment, we teach the students how to collect data that answers their research questions.
