Research Interests

Foot and Ankle Trauma, Reconstruction, and Arthritis. Revision Surgery. Tendon Transfers for Foot Drop The focus of the Foot and Ankle Division is to provide patients with the highest quality of care – both non-surgical and surgical for conditions that affect the foot and ankle. We specialize in traumatic injuries to the foot and ankle in addition to reconstruction of deformity, revision surgery, and the treatment of arthritis including ankle replacements. Dr. Kadakia strives to treat his patients and educate the residents to treat all patients as if they were a member of their family. This translates into focusing treatment on the whole patient, understanding the patient’s needs and concerns, and combining this to treat the orthopedic pathology. In addition to a commitment to his patients, he has a strong commitment to education and have written over 30 book chapters and lectured both nationally and internationally. Dr. Kadakia has also had the honor of being a guest professor and performing surgery in Chongqing, China. Recently he has been asked to become the Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Orthopedic Surgery and Research and additionally is engaged in writing his own book on how to effectively perform surgery on the foot and ankle. Dr. Kadakia employs what he researches to be the most effective orthopedic treatment modalities, both nonoperative and surgical to improve the function and pain of his patients. He believes in advancing the field of foot and ankle orthopedic surgery and has been on the forefront of developing new surgical techniques to help improve the quality of care that surgeons are able to deliver. He has been active in the American Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Society (AOFAS) since 2007 and is actively involved with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery in their resident education. He was nominated to the executive committee of the Asia-Pacific Society for Foot and Ankle Surgery (APSFAS) in 2011.
