Research Interests

Primary current research interests are the mechanisms of biomineralization in bones and teeth, and the role of non-collagenous "SIBLING" proteins in regulation of mineral placement in collagen matricies. The second major interest is in the structure and assembly of collagen molecules and fibrils. We have recently completed studies of the role of amelogenin splice product peptides in the epithelial-mesenchymal signaling during embryonic tooth formation.
