Personal profile

Research Interests

I have a long history of outreach general pediatric cardiology at sites that include Lurie main campus, Arlington Heights, Westchester New Lennox, and Central Dupage Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, Evanston This includes establishment of a large referral base in these areas. I still have an active role in consultation at St. Francis Hospital and do monthly clinics at Westchester. Equally important is the maintenance of family friendly hours which include Saturday outpatient sessions in Westchester and Clark and Deming. In recent years I have become more involved in priority second opinion consultations at the main hospital where each week parents with children who have CHD can meet with a multidisciplinary staff including neonatologist, cardiac intensivist, cardiac surgeon and social work and myself to review all facets of their cardiac disease and discuss medical interventional and surgical options. This includes a tour of the CCU Consultations for international patients have also been added to this outpatient session.

I maintain an active educational focus with monthly lectures to the residents and medical students. In addition I precept the Northwestern family practice residents in my Wednesday general cardiology outpatient sessions with heavy emphasis on physical exam and basic physiology and anatomy of congenital heart disease
