Research Interests
My goal is to become an expert in supporting providers with the right data to make optimal clinical decisions for their patients. I believe that current data infrastructure does not support providers in making optimal clinical choices. Quality healthcare requires Quality data.
I have chosen to focus on the effects of data management on growth and nutrition because they are important for every infant in the neonatal intensive care unit, and responsible for a large contribution of data collected for rounds (growth parameters, intake and output, chemistries, etc.). I hypothesize that data supporting decisions regarding nutrition and growth of infants are insufficient, may lead to less than optimal nutritional delivery, and may bias providers to think of fluid at the expense of energy and protein intake.
Provide quality healthcare for sick newborn infants.
