Research Interests
My research mainly focuses on mucosal immunology, pathogenesis of intestinal injury, intestinal epithelial biology, probiotics and immunity. We are now working on the identification of some novel targets for protection against tissue injury. MFG-E8, a macrophage-derived protein, is necessary for maintenance of the intestinal epithelial homeostasis and mediates the protection against intestinal mucosa injury. LZMPC, lysozyme-modified probiotic components, benefits the protection against CLP induced sepsis. The luminal propria peptidoglycan transcytosis through intestinal barrier mechanism is also addressed in our research.
