Research Interests
Our research is focused on the role of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) and its target genes in skin and prostate tumor development, and regulation of stem cells. We are also very much interested in translational aspects of the GR biology, and my laboratory has been involved in the development of novel selective GR activators (SEGRA) that preserve therapeutic potential of glucocorticoids but have fewer side effects. We also study the molecular mechanisms of the major side effect of topical glucocorticoids - skin atrophy using mice with knockout of identified GR target genes.
