Research Interests

My primary research interest and focus is on improving clinical outcomes in the cardiac intensive care unit. Specific areas of inquiry are around post-operative pain control, use of a drug named vasopressin to decrease length of stay and prevention of kidney injury. My ongoing studies attempt to use previous work to identify areas where interventions are likely to improve care of critically ill pediatric patients with cardiac disease. I am most interested in testing these interventions prospectively to provide persuasive evidence of their benefit so that the therapies that show a benefit will be adopted.
