Personal profile
Research Interests
My research and clinical interests focus on children with arthritis, and the use of informatics to improve quality and research projects, by coordinating flow of data from diverse sources, including the electronic medical record. My research is in health related quality of life of children with arthritis. I am Clinical Practice Director for the Division of Rheumatology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Administratively, I am Director of Clinical Research Informatics at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. I participate in leadership teams, contributing to strategic planning for support of research through data extraction services. Operationally, I am a manager of data analysts, who provide these services. I am also chairman of the medical records committee (called Health Information Management Committee), which oversees all changes to the EMR, including incorporating extractable data elements for clinical care, hospital operations, quality improvement, and research.
My research is in health related quality of life of children with arthritis. I formally and informally mentor junior faculty, in the area of research informatics as it pertains to their research.
I am a board certified pediatric rheumatologist, providing care to children with possible and diagnosed rheumatic diseases.
