Research Interests

My main area of clinical interest lies in pediatric echocardiography and general clinical pediatric cardiology, with an emphasis on Kawasaki Disease. I also have an interest in fetal cardiology and work with the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health. I have a passion for medical student, resident and fellow education, and devote a good deal of my time to these endeavors, mostly from a clinical standpoint. My main areas of research interest include pediatric echocardiography, Kawasaki disease and medical education.

My main academic focus is in graduate medical education. I serve as the Program Director for the Cardiology Fellowship Program. Additionally, I am actively involved in the Pediatric Residency Program, serving on several administrative committees and co-directing the resident cardiology rotation. From a scholarship perspective, I have active research in clinical echocardiography, fetal echocardiography, Kawasaki Disease and medical education.

My main area of clinical interest is in pediatric non-invasive imaging and general pediatric cardiology. I participate in both the outpatient and inpatient arenas. I co-direct the Kawasaki Clinic and provide consultative services for high risk Kawasaki patients. In addition to being an active member of our echocardiography laboratory (TTE and TEE), I also perform fetal echocardiograms and consultations at Prentice Women's Hospital and with the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health. Last, I have an interest in exercise physiology and take an active role in our exercise laboratory.
