Research Interests

My research goal is to understand the regulation of lung inflammatory processes, particularly those involved in development of Acute Lung Injury (ALI). The major mechanisms of ALI includes breakdown of epithelial and endothelial fluid barriers, causing fluid accumulation in lung’s alveolar space. By using sepsis and infection induced ALI model, I am studying signaling mechanisms regulate barrier properties of endothelial cells and lung vascular injury. I aim to translate my basic research on lung disease for development of novel therapies for critically ill patients with ALI.
