Personal profile

Research Interests

Primary focus of my research has been on host defense response during nosocomial infections and lung injury repair, specifically the role of Notch1 signaling in the bacterial clearance and resolution of inflammatory lung injury. I will test the hypothesis that interaction of Notch1 receptor on neutrophils with its ligand, Jag1 on endothelial cells is required for neutrophils sequestration into lungs and thereby bacterial clearance.

1. Role of endothelial Jag1 in Notch1 activation in bacterial clearance and resolution of lung injury during Pseudomonas infection. Percent effort: 60. 2. Role of nitrative stress in the peribronchiolar and perivascular fibrosis in Caveolin-1 deficient mice. Percent effort: 30. 3. Development of Lab Animal protocols. Percent effort:10.
