Personal profile

Research Interests

I am a pediatric critical care physician and Instructor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I enjoy practicing medicine in a multidisciplinary and innovative environment where many providers can collaborate in the care of complex diseases to make a difference for a child's outcome. I am interested in merging clinical care with innovations in healthcare technology to improve our capabilities in capturing patient data in a usable way to inform practice. My research focuses on understanding and improving nutritional therapy in critically ill patients. Specifically, I want to develop methods for determining how best to estimate energy profiles in critically ill patients in the setting of modern ICU care and adapt their nutritional therapy to optimize outcomes.

Dr.Roebuck's academic focus is on improving the predictive capabilities of models used to inform our nutritional goals for critically ill patients. She is currently a Master's student in The Graduate School at Northwestern's Health and Biomedical Informatics program. Her goal is to improve her ability to capture patient data to develop more intuitive and dynamic models of critical illness and energy demand. Other current projects include ICU nutritional therapy practice development and high flow nasal cannula use and its relationship with outcomes and feeding practices within the pediatric intensive care unit.

My clinical focus is on the care of critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit). I have a particular interest in alterations of metabolism and nutritional derangement in the acutely and chronically ill child.
