Research Interests

My laboratory uses genetic mouse modeling tools to study Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an incurable brain cancer that arises in children. Our three aims are to develop improved DIPG mouse models, to study the mechanism of novel oncogenes implicated in DIPG pathogenesis (e.g., H3K27M, ACVR1/ALK2), and to evaluate novel therapeutics

My academic focus is research to identify effective treatments for children with brain tumors, particularly DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). I am also interested in mentoring the next generation of physician-scientists or scientists who have similar interests.

To provide the scientific rationale for improved clinical trials for children with brain tumors, particularly pediatric high-grade gliomas
