Personal profile
Research Interests
My research focuses are pediatric brain tumor and pediatric embryonal tumors with emphasis on atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors (AT/RT) which are known by their extraordinary aggressiveness and resistance to therapy. My lab focuses on the study of kinases as potential therapeutic targets for these tumors. We identified key kinases overexpressed in embryonal brain tumors and are currently investigating the mechanisms of action and resistance to these kinase-inhibitors. Our studies also include the creation of a novel and unique animal model of rhabdoid tumors using zebrafish.
