Dr. Wenyu Huang is currently an Assistant Professor at the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Molecular Medicine, co-director of the Comprehensive Metabolic Core and Core Lab Director of the Clinical Research Unit at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Huang received his MD degree from Beijing Medical University and his PhD degree in neuroendocrinology at Northwestern University. After completing his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center, Dr. Huang has stayed on faculty at this prestigious academic medical center. With profound knowledge in both basic and clinical medicine, Dr. Huang has extensive expertise in clinical endocrinology, especially in the area of pituitary and adrenal disorders. His clinical research interest is in developing new and novel treatments for complex diseases including acromegaly, Cushing’s disease, etc. As the co-director of the Comprehensive Metabolic Core and Core Lab Director of the Clinical Research Unit at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Huang has dedicated and supervised tremendous effort in expanding the metabolic research at Northwestern University. Dr. Huang is also a member of the American Diabetes Association, Pituitary Society and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist. Dr. Huang has published extensively in top-tier journals, including JAMA and Journal of Clinical Investigation.
My main clinical interests are pituitary diseases, adrenal disorders, diabetes and male hypogonadism.
My main research focuses on understanding how the brain, especially the hypothalamus, integrates regulation of circadian rhythms and energy and glucose metabolism. Additionally, I am interested in clinical investigation of novel treatment for pituitary and adrenal disorders.
