Description

This award will provide salary support for Eric Dahl, who will spend the award period in residence at Fermilab. At Fermilab, Dahl will: (1) Lead the commissioning, operations, and calibration of the Liquid Argon bubble chamber constructed at Fermilab as LDRD project 2018-003. (2) Serve as mentor to Graduate Instrumentation Research Awardee Matthew Bressler, who will be in his 2nd year in residence at Fermilab working on the Liquid Argon bubble chamber project. (3) Support Fermilab's operations commitments on the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment, particularly the commissioning and maintenance of LZ's cryogenic and controls systems.
