Northwestern University Budget Justification 2013 Arryman Scholars, up-to-six years 7/1/13 to 6/30/19 Senior Personnel Brian Hanson will have complete oversight over all aspects of the Arryman Scholars Program. He will oversee, work with and hold accountable the Director of Equality, Development and Globalization Studies (EDGS) program for the fulfillment of the commitments made by this program. He will work with the EDGS director to liaison with the Office for Research, the Graduate School, the International Office and other administrative and academic units involved in the program. He will help address challenges and issues that arise in the program. He will approve program expenditures. He will work with the EDGS program manager, Beth Morrissey, to ensure that she and the program receive support. Direct Costs over 6 years NU Tuition: Up to six years in a graduate program-$194,795 Insurance/Dental: $20,860 per Arryman Scholar NU Fees: This includes VISA/International Office fee ($236) + Student Activity Fee + possible other fees=$2,598 per Arryman Scholar Stipend: For 12 months every year=$143,000 Travel: $21,427 per Arryman Scholar Books: $11,175 per Arryman Scholar; $3,075 for course books, $8,100 for personal books Computer: $1000.00 per Arryman Scholar Research Costs: $40,000 per Arryman Scholar Other Expenses: $12,500 per Arryman Scholar Total lump sum to NU for each Arryman Scholar=$447,355
