Description
This application is for educational funding to sponsor the Northwestern University Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center's 2014 three sessions patient education support group for Early Diagnosis and Young-Onset. This group promises to be an exciting program for those individuals who are trying to manage the challenges of employment concerns, parenting, relationships, financial, and legal issues.
Session Topic #1: Disclosure: legal and familial concerns about disclosure
Proposed Session Topic #2: Relationships and Sexual Health
Proposed Session Topic #3: Alternative Therapies for Care
The three-fold mission of the Center is:
1) To provide innovative, multidisciplinary care for patients and families affected by Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders
2) To promote health, education, and support for patients, caregivers, family members, healthcare providers, and the community
3) To conduct preclinical and clinical research in order to extend the knowledge and treatment of movement disorders
