Project Details

Description

Northwestern University requests funding through the 2017 Beckman Scholars Program in order to recognize and develop our top students to become tomorrow’s influential scientific leaders and teachers. Under the direction of 1992 Beckman Young Investigator Award winner Chad Mirkin, Professor of Chemistry and Director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology, Northwestern’s Beckman Scholars Program will aim to help students develop the skills and expertise to be highly competitive as they move on to graduate and professional schools, while also cultivating the values that defined and guided Arnold Beckman’s remarkable career: a deep commitment to work on problems of practice that have the promise to improve the world, a focus on being an outstanding scientific leader and teacher, and a striving for interdisciplinarity.
