Project Details
Description
The proposed project to quantify mitral regurgitation by energy parameters calculated from 4D flow meshes well with existing research programs in the Cardiovascular MR Research group at Northwestern University. Our research group is a joint effort between the Northwestern University Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Northwestern University Department of Radiology, and the MR Research Division of Siemens Medical Systems. I head our efforts developing techniques for visualizing and quantifying complex flow patterns in cardiovascular disease, including congenital heart disease, valvular disorders, and cardiomyopathies. Our 4D flow techniques have also been applied to neurovascular and abdominal vessel pathology.
