Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

An essential component of this proposal is extracting relevant variables from electronic health data. This will include implementing an EHR algorithm for identifying OSA, and extracting the following information: - Presence of OSA (based on ICD-9/ICD-10 codes) - Demographics (age, gender, BMI, other co-morbidities) at time of OSA diagnosis or most recent in patients without an OSA diagnosis - Epworth Sleepiness Scale score (where available) - Date and type of sleep study performed (where available) - OSA severity measures extracted from in-laboratory or home sleep study (where available), including: total sleep/recording time, Apnea-Hypopnea Index, oxygen desaturation Index (4%), minutes of sleep/recording time spent with SaO2<90, minimum SaO2 recorded.
