Description
Objectives
Outline your objectives for the grant/contract period June 1, 2015 – July 31, 2016.
**To increase the candidate pool for the Young Scholars and College Scholarship programs by offering fee waivers to qualifying 7th grade NUMATS participants and by reaching out to 12th grade students by email, mail, phone calls, and through community and school visits.
**To increase the number of low-income students who are served through a CTD educational program, with particular emphasis on NUMATS students who have received a JKC fee waiver but who do not achieve Young Scholar status.
**To increase CTD outreach to charter schools, school districts, and community organizations with low income, gifted students
**To forge more substantial, enduring connections and relationship with schools and districts in the Midwest who wish to work with CTD to better serve their low income gifted students
Goals/Action Steps
Outline specific goals and the accompanying action steps that will be taken to meet the goals for the grant/contract period.
1. CTD staff will identify schools, districts, and community organizations (charter, public, independent) that have low income, promising students and have indicated an interest in identifying and serving these students to let them know about both the JKC scholarship opportunities and CTD programs.
2. CTD staff, specifically Randee Blair, our School Outreach Coordinator, and Tammie Stewart, our Community Outreach Coordinator, but other CTD staff who have relationships with various schools and organizations (see below), will reach out to these schools/districts and organizations via personal contact and visits to establish a firm working relationship with them for the purposes of:
--Helping them identify their gifted students
--Helping them complete the JKC scholarship applications
--Helping to prepare students to participate successfully in CTD programs
--Assisting schools in providing supports to their students for success
