Project Details

Description

The purpose of this project is to lay a foundation for analytically-sound estimates of blockchain energy use moving forward. Specifically, we will develop a robust and flexible framework for quantifying the net energy implications of major blockchain applications and propose a research agenda for data collection and knowledge integration for applying the framework moving forward. This framework will ultimately improve our understanding of blockchain energy implications and trends at the systems level, which will provide evidence-based insights for better management of energy effects in the future.
