A modular system for temporal and cell-type specific manipulation of neural circuits

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This project seeks to develop tools that will allow for the labeling, manipulation, and ablation of specific subsets of retinal ganglion cells. Funds from this grant will be used to develop three new mouse models that allow for temporal and cell type specific control of gene expression, as well as for supplies and a partial technician salary. These tools will help us understand how light influences behavior at the single circuit level, and will also be shared with the wider neuroscience community for manipulation of other circuits and cell types.
