Project Details
Description
The work to be done at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (NUFSM) consists of a prospective clinical research study of MRI scans, existing CT images, and medical records of 50 abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) subjects who were placed in a surveillance program and 50 AAA subjects who are eligible for (surgical or endovascular) repair at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) during the project period. In addition, a retrospective acquisition of medical records and CT images will be conducted of subjects who had an emergent AAA repair prior to reaching the critical size recommended for such procedure. It is estimated that the prospective study will consist of 100 AAA subjects with prior informed consent, who will be asked to undergo an MRI exam during the first year of the project period.
