Description
Encouraging Reflection to Battle Burnout: The Development of a Novel Medical Intensive Care Unit Survivors’ Conference. The conference planning committee includes two pulmonary and critical care fellows, an internal medicine resident, a MICU nurse, a faculty mentor, and a former ICU patient. We plan to host this hour-long conference monthly and invite anyone from the ICU care team to present patients for discussion. While this conference is intended to increase medical trainees’ sense of meaning in work and decrease burnout, the interdisciplinary nature of the conference will allow us to make broader conclusions regarding the utility of this activity for facilitating interprofessional cohesion.
