Description
Dr. Palella is the current Co-Chair of the Data Management Committee (DMC) and he will continue in this role during the funding period of this proposal. The DMC meets by teleconference once monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 11:00 am ET. This call is chaired by Dr. Murphy. During the month, Dr. Murphy will assist data managers as needed at the Frontier Science and Technology Research Foundation (FSTRF) who manages the ACTG data. He will also chair face-to-face meetings as needed and at all group ACTG General Meetings (minimum 1 per year) and Scientific Retreats (minimum 2 per year). He also represents and reports to the Adult Executive Committee (AEC) which meets once monthly by teleconference and face-to-face at the ACTG General Meeting and Scientific Retreats. The objective of the DMC is to gather data in an efficient and methodical fashion which allows the ACTG to maximize the data's usefulness within and across studies. To achieve this goal in the most efficient manner is of primary importance to the DMC and the ACTG at large.
