Project Details
Description
The Hope lab will conduct work in support of Dr. Carters grant, “Sex/Gender Differences in HIV-1 Viral Particle Transmission Capability”. Stocks of HIV variants Dr. Carter identified will be produced in the Hope lab. The HIV variants will be used to infect tissue explants and then supernates will be collected at varying time-points. The supernates will be analyzed for p24 using an elisa assay. Additionally, the Hope Lab will cryosection the cultured tissue and stain for markers of infection and structural proteins.
