Advancing Indigenous Research

We propose to gather our colleagues working at diverse institutions across the country for a two-day workshop to address common issues at this critical moment of building this field. Examples of institutions that we plan to invite are AT&T Center for Indigenous Politics and Policy, The George Washington University, Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative at the University of Arkansas School of Law, Native Nations Institute for Leadership, Management and policy, University of Arizona. By including a range of institutions, we see this workshop as an opportunity to learn from one another about the challenges confronting each of us, and as a place to develop relationships, resources, and strategies for moving the field forward.
