Statement of Work for Research Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Research Assistant is to assist in the development of an online program to address key risk factors for chronic disease (alcohol use, smoking, physical inactivity, sleep, sedentary behaviour and poor diet) for secondary school students.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct systematic literature reviews to inform development of healthy lifestyles interventions, including screening of articles, data extraction and manuscript preparation
• Assist in the drafting of content for a new eHealth intervention to address key risk factors for chronic disease (alcohol use, smoking, physical inactivity, sleep, sedentary behaviour and poor diet) among adolescents
• Assist with consultation among end users (students, teachers, parents and health professionals), including administering online surveys, data collection and analysis
• Liaise and work in partnership with web developers, graphic designers and other tech personnel.
• Liaise and work in partnership with the research team at UNSW Sydney, including participation in team meetings via Skype
• Assist with preparation of manuscripts for publication, progress reports and ethics applications.
• Prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations for scientific conferences and investigator team meetings
• Assist with related prevention studies and other appropriate tasks assigned by the supervisor, relevant and consistent with the position.
