Project Details
Description
Every year, we convene an international workshop on network theory, inviting approximately 25 scholars to attend and 8-10 speakers to present. The workshop alternates between Northwestern University and University of Southern California and is sponsored by the Science of Networks in Communities (SONIC) research group, Northwestern Institute of Complexity (NICO) and Annenberg Networks Network (ANN).
The theme of this year's workshop is Brain Science and Social Networks. Individual behavior and brain activity are powerfully influenced by the norms and behaviors of social ties, and that many behaviors spread through social networks. As such, it is critical to integrate understanding of social network variables in models of cognition and behavior. Topics will include theoretical, empirical and computational advances at the intersection of neuroscience and social networks.
