Association of Telomere Length with Frailty in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The aims of this project will be threefold. First, we plan to externally validate a recently constructed Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics Frailty Index (SLICC-FI) in a cohort of patients at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL(1). Second, we plan to assess ability of this index to predict long term outcomes in SLE by applying it at an initial study visit, three and five year follow up. Finally, we seek to test the hypothesis that telomere length is associated with frailty in SLE patients.
