Auditory brain function as a marker for Alzheimer’s disease

As a pioneer in the development of the frequency-following response (FFR) as an effective and objective measure of central auditory function, Nina Kraus, Ph.D., of Northwestern University is instrumental in launch-ing the neurophysiological portion of the proposed project supplement, and will continue her oversight of this phase of the project for its duration. In addition to technical support in instrumentation and data collection, Kraus and Travis White-Schwoch, Senior Research Analyst, will oversee ongoing data vetting which will ensure that the data collected in the Alzheimer’s cohort are of the highest possible quality. They will also contribute their ex-pertise in data reduction and analysis, and will contribute to presentation and write-up of findings for communi-cation with the scientific community.
