Project Details
Description
Northwestern University Transportation Center (NUTC) will work with a consortium of university partners led by Broward College (BC) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and in partnership with the Council on Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and its state and national partners wish to develop a series of “stacked and latticed” certificates that will provide entry level and incumbent workers with incremental training and professional development opportunities. The grant project will focus on 8 states that have been identified based on volume of trade. The project consortium partners will include universities and community colleges from each region. BC is currently a partner on two separate TAACCCT Round II grants, and has a long history of federal grant administration. BC brings to this effort existing AS and BS degree programs, and ongoing experience with two national Department of Labor (DOL) grants focused on developing industry certificates in manufacturing and information technology, respectively. Mathematica Policy Research will serve as the project’s independent third party evaluator.
