Project Details
Description
he proposed investigation is an independent research project that takes advantage of an existing research infrastructure and standardized data collection procedures established in the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (MACS). As one of four clinical sites that participated in the MACS, Northwestern University has access to data necessary to complete this project. Specifically, we will identify, recruit and enroll men into the study for medical evaluations, cognitive and behavioral exams, and for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging scanning. Blood specimens will be drawn, processed, stored and then shipped to a central analysis laboratory. Northwestern will archive imaging data locally and then upload all MR data to a central data repository. Northwestern will send other data, such as behavioral/cognitive testing data to the data repository. The study investigators will have telephone conference calls monthly. We will also have a face-to-face meeting for this project (e.g. during the annual MACS meeting held in November of each year) of the study.
