Project Details
Description
Training, outreach, and consultation in the design, use, and implementation of research cyberinfrastructure (CI) resources and services have become core functions. These people-oriented services look to extend research and grant opportunities via deep partnerships in order to support the research inquiries of our faculty and students. The addition of a CI Engineer builds upon an existing research support structure by further integrating on and off campus CI support of the transfer and analysis of large-scale datasets, and thereby reducing the complexity associated with multi-site collaboration and information sharing, and provisioning access to remote instrumentation. This project seamlessly leverages existing investments in campus level services in order to enable the success of a larger range of research and educational needs. The University intends to institutionalize this essential activity through the development of a supportive and enabling sustainability plan.
