Collaborative Research: CybeR-Enabled Demand-Interactive Transit for the Next-Generation Transportation Systems

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This research proposes to investigate a new kind of transit system called CybeR-Enabled Demand- Interactive Transit System, or CREDITS. CREDITS can be viewed as a hybrid system that integrates conventional fixed-route service with demand-interactive service (DIS). The overcharging goal of the the proposed research is to create theories and tools to characterize, analyze, operationalize, and evaluate CREDITS. The research activities are organized under four thrusts: (1) characterize CREDITS and compares alterative hybrid designs; (2) formulate and analyzes mathematical problems that support design and operations; (3) design efficient solution algorithms and scalable computing architecture; and (4) evaluate the proposed system and tools.
