Combined Cardiopulmonary Failure in COPD: SPIROMICS HF

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

We will function as the echo reading center for the SPIROMICS II HF Study. We will:

1) Facilitate standardization and implementation of the resting and bike echo protocols at all of the SPIROMICS sites that are participating in the SPIROMICS II HF Study.
2) Oversee echo-related monthly calls to oversee echo standardization, set-up, QC and integrity of the echo protocol and data.
3) Receive all echo data from study sites and QC it in timely manner.
4) Provide central safety reads for sites that do not perform local safety reads in a timely manner.
5) Provide quantitative reading of standard measures of right and left ventricular function in a timely manner for participant results letters and for research endpoints.
6) Provide quantitative reading of the assessment of cardiac structure/function (for all 4 chambers), including diastolic function and pulmonary artery systolic pressure at rest and during exercise.
7) Participate in manuscript preparation and submission.
