The proposed research is relevant to public health because it will have an important positive impact on our understanding of the role of the Virome in HIV/AIDS and the pathogenesis associated with drug use. Thus, the proposed research is relevant to the part of NIDA’s mission that pertains to developing fundamental knowledge to alleviate the burdens of drug use.
