We are proposing a novel concept that allows controllable heat release by chemically reactive systems with very high specific energies. This concept is based on using two reactors, one of which generates oxygen for burning a metal fuel in the second reactor. Lithium and magnesium could be used as the fuel. Such a system could be integrated with a thermoelectric convertor and used for NASA deep space missions.
