Creating and Optimizing Mindfulness Measures to Enhance and Normalize Clinical Evaluation (COMMENCE)

Project: Research project

Project Details

Mindfulness, or the ability to pay attention to the present moment without judgment, has become an increasingly studied health behavior in clinical research trials. A major challenge of mindfulness research has been how to most effectively measure and assess mindfulness using self-reported survey instruments. New statistical and self-reported measurement development methods exist that hold great promise to significantly change the landscape of mindfulness outcomes measurement. This study seeks to apply these new instrument development methods to create a new measurement system of mindfulness and advance our understanding of important clinical processes and mechanisms of action associated with good response to intervention.
