Delivery of Nano-Tethered Therapies to Brain Metastases of Primary Breast Cancer Using a Cellular Trojan Horse

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Hypothesis: Nanoshell-laden monocytes/macrophages carrying therapeutic cargo, e.g., lapatinib, will home in to intracranial metastatic deposits by crossing the blood-brain barrier following injection into the systemic circulation. Once reaching the metastases the cargo will be able to be released by near infrared irradiation of the nanoshells.
