Development of 5hmC and 5mC biomarkers in cell-free circulating DNA for sensitive colon cancer detection and prognosis

Project: Research project

Project Details

Dr. Wei Zhang has a broad background in human genetics, bioinformatics, and biostatistics, with an emphasis on elucidating the genetic and epigenetic contributors to complex traits, including risks for complex diseases and drug response. In particular, he has extensive experience in the analysis of genome-wide data generated from high-throughput platforms, including the next-generation sequencing technologies and various microarray platforms. Dr. Zhang is also an expert in (epi)genome-wide association studies and cancer biomarker discovery. Dr. Zhang will work closely with Drs. Bissonnette and He to jointly lead this project, coordinate the high-throughput epigenomic profiling, and supervise bioinformatics/data analysis. Dr Zhang will also participate in the preparation of manuscripts and NIH reports.
