Development of a Molecular Encyclopedia of the Normal Human Breast

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The histologically normal epithelium of 16 donors to the Komen Tissue Bank who are either BRCA 1 or 2 positive has been microdissected; the RNA has been extracted, libraries have been successfully made and the RNA has been sequenced. RNA-Seq. data was delivered to The Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at the Indiana University School of Medicine where at present the data is being mapped to the human genome. Note: The final number of specimens sent for sequencing differs from the interim report because 4 did no pass quantity or quality control.
