Project Details
Description
The overall goal of this project is to develop a module in Excel and .net platforms that simulates rail mode by using either a set of default inputs or inputs specified by the user. This module will be incorporated in Argonne National Laboratory’s Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Transportation (GREET) model. The default data provide energy and emissions characteristics of the rail mode within U.S. The rail mode characteristics include commodities carried, current and future commodity demand, geographical rail movements, current and future energy intensities by commodity, potential for energy intensity improvement, types of fuels used currently and likely to be used in future, current and future criteria pollutant emissions, and greenhouse gas emissions.
