DIFFERING NEURONAL MECHANISMS MEDIATING LOCOMOTION AND SPASMS AFTER SPINAL CORD INJURY

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Spinal circuits retain substantial functional capacity following even serve spinal injury. The goal of this proposal is to enhance the recovery of normal behavior in the spinal interneurons and motoneurons caudal to the injury. Specifically, we seek to enhance locomotor output and minimize spasms caused by sensory input.
