Dissemination of the Mothers and Babies Postpartum Depression Intervention

With initial funding from the Illinois Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development, Dr. Tandon and his team have trained 70 home visitors from 14 Illinois HV programs on the MB 1-on-1 Course. These 14 sites serve families in Cook County and downstate Illinois. In August 2014, we will train staff from 10 additional HV programs serving Northwest Illinois. The implementation of the MB 1-on-1 Course is part of an overall systems vision for the State of Illinois to provide HV programs with resources to address maternal depression among their clients. To achieve this vision, we are seeking resources to (a) expand the number of programs trained on the MB 1-on-1 course and (b) support HV programs in their implementation of the MB 1-on-1 course. These two programmatic activities will help ensure expansion of the MB model throughout Illinois and sustainability of high fidelity implementation.
