Project Details
Description
“Targeted Sequencing and Functional Evaluation of Mutations in Schizophrenia”. As described in Aim 4 of the application, my laboratory will perform a series of studies using iPS cell-derived human neurons, as models for cellular alterations in schizophrenia. We stain neurons with antibodies, and perform immunofluorescence analysis using confocal microscopy. We will also perform electrophysiological recordings on neurons. We will then use specialized computer programs to analyze morphological and electrophysiological phenotypes of these neurons. As evidenced by our publications, we have the expertise to perform all of these methods.
